Ashtons bed and breakfast is located in the heart of New Orleans – central to both the vibrant French Quarter and lovely City Park.

Take I-10 EAST approximately 12 miles through the city. Do not mistakenly take Hwy 90 towards the westbank as you approach the Superdome. Follow the signs and STAY ON I-10! The Superdome should be on your RIGHT as you pass. If it is on your left, you went the wrong way. Two exits after you pass the Dome, EXIT at Esplanade Avenue (#236-A). At the end of the down-ramp, cross over to the left lane as quickly as possible, and turn LEFT at the light (Esplanade Avenue). Take Esplanade four blocks. We are the third house on the right after N. Johnson Street. Park anywhere in front and ring the bell at the gate.

Follow I-10 Westbound into New Orleans. Exit at SAINT BERNARD AVENUE (2nd exit after I-610 junction, Exit #236-C). There is a light at the bottom of the exit-ramp at Saint Bernard Avenue. Turn LEFT, then immediately take a RIGHT onto CLAIBORNE AVENUE (which parallels I-10). Take Claiborne four blocks to the next light, and turn RIGHT onto ESPLANADE AVENUE. Take Esplanade four blocks. We are the third house on the right after N. Johnson Street. Park anywhere in front and ring the bell at the gate.
Taxi is the fastest and easiest way to get here from the Airport. A flat rate of $28 is charged for one or two passengers from the Airport. Three or more passengers are $12 each. The ride takes about 20 to 30 minutes in normal traffic. If you desire, limo service can be arranged for you at an extra charge.

Our location is near (9 blocks) the French Quarter. Although this is considered walking distance, most of our guests use taxis to get to and from the French Quarter. The fare from the house to anywhere in the French Quarter is usually between $5 and $7. We recommend United Cab (522-9771), accessible by speed-dial on your in-room phone. Wait time for a taxi to get to the door after calling is usually 5 to 10 minutes. There are always plenty of cabs in the French Quarter for the return trip. A rental car is usually not necessary or economical for short trips. Confusing signs, relentless parking enforcement (including towing), and expensive off-street parking combine to make using a car in the French Quarter tedious at best. We do have free secure off-street parking at the house, if needed. Public transportation is also an option. The Esplanade Ave bus stops right in front of the house with transfer service to other lines and streetcars. For bus and streetcar routes and schedules, click here. Bus and streetcar fare is $1.25 and 25 cents for a transfer. 1-Day and 3-Day passes are available at Ashton's for $5 and $12 respectively.
